Veterans Day – Of Eagles and Miracles

Let all that I am praise the LORD; with my whole heart, I will praise His holy name. Let all that I am praise the LORD; may I never forget the good things He does for me. He forgives all my sins and heals all my diseases. He redeems me from death and crowns me with love and tender mercies. He fills my life with good things. My youth is renewed like the eagle’s! Psalm 103:1-5 (NLT)

A few days before I took the picture of this eagle, a veteran told me a remarkable story about himself. For a long time he was in a very dark place in his life. He had come back from the war on terrorism after suffering major injuries. The pain, both mental and physical, was all-consuming. His despair was so deep, that just the week before I met him, he had almost taken his own life.

That’s when the remarkable happened. Both he and his wife learned who Jesus Christ is, and the love Christ has for them – which He demonstrated when He went to the cross to pay the price for their sins. This man was shocked to understand his value in the eyes and heart of a loving God.

“It’s a miracle,” he stated, still a bit overwhelmed by the love of God. He said he will now base the rest of his life on Christ, and that there are no longer any doubts for him. He now knows he is one hundred percent whole.

“It’s a miracle.”

If you’ve never repented and called on the Name of Jesus to be your Savior and Lord, I hope you will do so soon. And experience a miracle of your own.

Not sure what I’m talking about? See Got God? Or send me a comment and I’ll try to better explain this love God has for you.

And thank you, veterans, for my freedom in this country
