At times I’ve wondered how scientists come up with the names of some of the things I’ve studied. I actually don’t know what name man gave to the flower pictured above.
Although botany was not my major field of study, I do enjoy learning about plants. During my years whilst living in Africa, I occasionally had the privilege of observing elephants in the wild. So as soon as I saw this flower on a recent hike in the Rocky Mountains, I knew immediately what the name of it ought to be.
Ha.
