Deer Bed II

A person standing alone can be attacked and defeated, but two can stand back-to-back and conquer. Three are even better, for a triple-braided cord is not easily broken. – Ecclesiastes 4:12 NLT

“Just ask the animals, and they will teach you. Ask the birds of the sky, and they will tell you. – Job 12:7 NLT

Make every effort to keep the oneness of the Spirit in the bond of peace [each individual working together to make the whole successful]. – Ephesians 4:3 AMP

It is not a haphazard or casual thing for animals in the wild to pick their place to rest. A deer will consider many potential dangers before bedding down for the night. Factors such as wind direction (which often changes after sunset) and terrain are important. So is surrounding vegetation and how “noisy” it is due to recent dry or wet weather. Determining how close a predator could approach before being seen/heard/smelled, etc. all come into play when one of these animals chooses a place to spend time resting or sleeping.

Who Said What to Whom?

The exact means of communication the three deer in the above photo used to position themselves the way they did is a mystery to me. But for them to lie down with their back sides toward each other and face different directions to be alert for approaching danger is something I find rather remarkable. I’ve seen this type behavior before with somewhere between two and six deer bedded down in the same area, and it has always appeared to be the result of a well-thought-out plan.

The above Scripture verses speak of how important it is for the Lord’s people to all do their part to help bring success to everyone involved. Even the animals have this one figured out. Just ask them, eh!

Hope you have a great day.
