Praise the LORD! Praise God in His sanctuary; Praise Him in His mighty firmament! Praise Him for His mighty acts; Praise Him according to His excellent greatness! Praise Him with the sound of the trumpet; Praise Him with the lute and harp! Praise Him with the timbrel and dance; Praise Him with stringed instruments and flutes! Praise Him with loud cymbals; Praise Him with clashing cymbals! Let everything that has breath praise the LORD. Praise the LORD! – Psalm 150:1-6
In my little corner of the world, we are once again entering into one of my most favorite seasons of the year. In a prior post, I mentioned how the autumn colors were already in the green leaves I saw during the summer in the deciduous trees (those which shed their leaves each year).
The shades of yellow color in the leaves pictured above were there all along. They were just masked due to all the green chlorophyll present in the leaf as the tree produced both sugar and oxygen during the process of photosynthesis (see Fall Colors I).
Recently I’ve had the privilege of taking long walks along a clear mountain stream – where the air is crisp and clean, orange kokanee salmon are spawning, bald eagles are numerous, and the leaves are turning stunning colors.
Just my beloved wife and me, along with Cosmos the Wonderdog during those walkabouts.
And the Lord.
My wife and I find ourselves doing just what Psalm 150 above says to do.
If you want to know how you can have a relationship with the Creator Who thought of all this, along with a bazillion other wonders, please see Got God?
May the Lord grant you a peaceful season wherever you live and whatever you are going through. And may the colors of autumn also cause you to praise the Lord!
