Bear Track

Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. Hebrews 11:1

A while back, I posted a picture of my hand holding the front paw of a live black bear (see Bears II). Pictured above is a photo of a print made by the front paw of that same species of bear. As best I can tell, the bear which made this track is a bit bigger than the one I was examining during our live-trapping of the critters.

Finding this fresh bear track on my hike told me that this bear had been there recently, perhaps just a few hours earlier. The evidence of this truth was obvious.

Recently I spoke with someone who said he saw no evidence that God exists. He was adamant – no evidence at all, none, zilch.

As someone who has spent a lot of his life studying or working in biology, I found that statement to be amazing. I’ve studied just a miniscule portion of nature, from beyond our solar system down to the sub-cellular level here on earth. And the complexity of design, which science affirms, is astounding. To me, the evidence for intelligent design is not difficult to determine. And if that is true – if there is intelligent design – then there has to be an Intelligent Designer Who created it all.
