Stay alert! Watch out for your great enemy, the devil. He prowls around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour. 1 Peter 5:8 NLT
As I’ve mentioned before, trail cams can be a lot of fun. When I hike back to where I have my camera hidden in the trees, I’m always excited about discovering what animal may have been captured on film.
By far, most of the animals in pictures taken with my trail cam appear to have no idea the camera is even there. (There is one unfortunate exception to this – the day a bear chewed up my camera. See The Two Hundred Dollar Bear). However, it seems to me the above pictured moose may have indeed seen the camera, or at least realized that something looked a bit unusual in this section of the trail.
I had the camera set for a burst of three pictures, then reset for thirty seconds. I captured three pictures of the big critter’s snoot, ears, eyeball and beginning antler growth as pictured above, then one more picture of his back side as he hurried through the area. He apparently stood looking toward the camera for a while, then made his run through the opening and was off and away. As much as I wanted to, I didn’t get another picture of him the entire year.
What an alert and wary character this moose is, and with good reason. There are many things in these mountains which would like to have moose for supper, including man and wolves alike.
In the above Scripture, God gives us a warning to be alert as well, for there is one who seeks to cause us harm and destroy us. Very good advice from an all-knowing, loving God. Not sure how to have a one on One relationship with the One Who made you? Please see Got God?
Hope you are well, and have a great day.
