God puts a spirit in Labs that causes us to bind with them. I enjoyed every sentence. You are a terrific writer.
Our four children had various dogs over the years. One of our favorites was a West Highland White Terrier.
The last one Ruth and I had was a small white poodle. She was very intelligent and loved us unconditionally.
At sixteen, having trouble seeing and eating, she came to me with her head down to say, Daddy, it’s time for me to go. The vet putting her to sleep was like putting one of our children to sleep. At 87 years old, I have no desire to have another dog, but who knows?
With the death of my wife last June 20, after 64 years with her, my emotions are all over the place. I am praying God would send me a Christian woman as a friend or whatever He wants for me—blessings to you and your wife and family.
BTW, we have 10 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
