Fawn IV

In that day the wolf and the lamb will live together; the leopard will lie down with the baby goat. The calf and the yearling will be safe with the lion, and a little child will lead them all. The cow will graze near the bear. The cub and the calf will lie down together. The lion will eat hay like a cow. The baby will play safely near the hole of a cobra. Yes, a little child will put its hand in a nest of deadly snakes without harm. – Isaiah 11:6-8 NLT

That is what the Scriptures mean when they say, “No eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no mind has imagined what God has prepared for those who love him.” – 1 Corinthians 2:9 NLT

One warm early-summer day I was walking through some tall grass with Cosmos the Wonderdog. Although I stepped just a few feet from the fawn pictured above, I never saw it as I passed by. I did notice Cosmos dropping back from my sight for a moment, and when I turned around, I saw him scenting the top of this little guy’s noggin. It looked like Cosmos’ head was as big as the entire fawn. Fortunately, Cosmos is an extremely gentle dog. He sniffed the fawn, then looked up at me as if to say: “Hey, look at this!”

According to the above Scriptures, perhaps Cosmos was showing me a glimpse of what is to come.

I am so blessed. There is no telling how many things I would have missed on my walks in the outdoors if Moondog, Stardog, or Cosmos hadn’t pointed them out to me.

The day is coming when Jesus Christ the Messiah will reign. And when that happens, as the above Scripture passage points out, all of nature will be transformed. The behavior of animals toward each other will change. And so will their behavior toward people.

I’m looking forward to it.

If you don’t have a relationship with the Creator of the world, I urge you with every fiber of my being to consider the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. You can see what He promised those who will believe on Him at this post – Got God?

Hope you have a great day.
