But the LORD said to Samuel, “Do not look at his appearance or at his physical stature, because I have refused him. For [the LORD does] not [see] as man sees; for man looks at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart.” – 1 Samuel 16:7 NKJV
Do not neglect to extend hospitality to strangers [especially among the family of believers–being friendly, cordial, and gracious, sharing the comforts of your home and doing your part generously], for by this some have entertained angels without knowing it. – Hebrews 13:2 AMP
As I’ve mentioned in other posts, I find it fascinating to watch the interactions between various animals in the wild. Have you ever had someone look at you the way this little buck is looking at the turkey?
When I saw this picture (taken by one of my trail cams), I had to laugh. Perhaps most of us have been given that look at one time or another.
The above Scriptures point out how the Lord looks at our hearts, rather than being impressed by our outward appearance. Since He created us, I reckon He knew what we were going to look like long before we ever took our first steps into His creation.
And I am truly grateful that He sees us through eyes of love and compassion beyond our comprehension. If you doubt that, just spend a few moments meditating about what took place at the cross.
If you are not sure how to have a relationship with the God who is, at this very moment, looking at your heart, please see Got God?
Hope you have a great day.
