Strength

He stood and measured the earth; He looked and startled the nations. And the everlasting mountains were scattered. The perpetual hills bowed. His ways are everlasting.

I will rejoice in the LORD, I will be joyful in God my Savior. The Sovereign LORD is my strength; he makes my feet like the feet of a deer, he enables me to tread on the heights. Habakkuk 3:6, 18-19

Considering the brutal winter we had this year, it is noticeable to me the number and size of deer we have around our home this summer. Over the winter, I saw evidence of some animals that did not survive the cold and snow. But the resilience and strength of animals that did endure is remarkable.

Last week I wrote about a deer with non-typical antler growth that we’ve been watching. The above pictured buck has a pretty symmetrical set of antlers, or typical growth, thus far this year. He is another very healthy animal that made it through the long days of ice and blustery cold (see Snow Vole).

As this Scripture states, to have the Lord as one’s strength while walking through this difficult life is huge. It is another reason to rejoice in Him alone for His provision and strength.

Hope you have a great day.
