Owls

The eyes of all look expectantly to You, and You give them their food in due season.

You open Your hand and satisfy the desire of every living thing.

The LORD is righteous in all His ways, gracious in all His works.

The LORD is near to all who call upon Him, to all who call upon Him in truth.

He will fulfill the desire of those who fear Him; He also will hear their cry and save them.

Psalm 145:15-19

A friend of mine sent me this photo. He is a biologist who helps with a lot of different projects, one of which is working with the burrowing owl. This picture of the baby owls was taken directly down the top hatch of one of their artificial nest boxes. At the time this was taken, the biologists were capturing and banding the birds. These owls were too small to mark, so they came back to them at a later date to complete the banding.

Sometimes when I study and meditate on the Bible, I am simply amazed at the love God has for us. He says he gives us our food to eat, yet how many of us bother to even take a moment to thank Him for it? He tells us that He makes His sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust. Even people who hate Him, He still is good to them, hoping they will someday come to recognize Who He is and turn to Him.

I’ve lived in Africa, and I’ve visited a handful of third-world countries where many people don’t know where their next meal will come from. For the most part, they are so very grateful for what they do have.

It is a good thing to be thankful to God for what you have.

In everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. 1 Thessalonians 5:18.

I need to do this more often. Not with just the food He has so graciously supplied , but with everything.

I hope you’ll try it.

I think you’ll be amazed at the results.

Jesus.

Fantastic blog! Do you have any helpful hints for aspiring writers? I’m planning to start my own website soon but I’m a little lost on everything. Would you recommend starting with a free platform like WordPress or go for a paid option? There are so many options out there that I’m totally confused .. Any tips? Appreciate it!
