Mountain Snows – II

Who may ascend the mountain of the LORD? Who may stand in his holy place? The one who has clean hands and a pure heart, who does not trust in an idol or swear by a false god. They will receive blessing from the LORD and vindication from God their Savior. Such is the generation of those who seek him, who seek your face, God of Jacob. Lift up your heads, you gates; be lifted up, you ancient doors, that the King of glory may come in. Who is this King of glory? The LORD strong and mighty, the LORD mighty in battle. Lift up your heads, you gates; lift them up, you ancient doors, that the King of glory may come in. Who is he, this King of glory? The LORD Almighty— he is the King of glory.  Psalm 24 (NIV)

I’ve seen these peaks more than once in my exploring, and thought of climbing to the top (although not during the snows – it would be challenging enough when things are dry). But I have to cross the river to do it, and I haven’t quite figured out how to manage that aspect of things. The river is either deep or fast or both along this stretch.

I’ve pretty much concluded that at this stage of the game, there may be some mountains I just can’t get to in this lifetime. I’m eternally grateful that God made a way for us to ascend the mountain of the Lord and reach Him. If you’re not sure how God arranged for such a thing, see Got God?

Jesus!

Have a great day.

I live in Mississippi and we just got our first snow in the area where I live. This is the first we have had in a long time and it was very beautiful. I love the wonder of the flakes falling from Heaven.. It does cause me to reflect on God’s love, purity, and character. I cannot imagine living where you do and seeing such beautiful scenes of snow in nature. I know you will keep being inspired. Thank you for sharing. KC
